There are infinitely many choices on this planet. Life is made up of a huge number of choices that we make and that shape our lives. It depends on our choices in which direction we will direct our lives. Our Creator has endowed us with the power of choice which is one of the factors that makes us different from animals. Some make choices easier, while others do it a little harder.


Every day, we make choices about how we will spend our 24 hours and how we will deal with all the circumstances during the day. It depends on our choice how the circumstances that happen to us will affect us. So, the choice of whether to react or respond to the situation is in our hands. These two concepts are very different because one of them is destructive, while the other is constructive. What we choose will have a significant impact on our lives, and the people close to us.


Reacting to circumstances is an activity that is beyond our conscious control and is considered by many to be a negative choice. Responding is the transfer of responsibility to circumstances or other people. The reaction is a transfer of power to others to control us and manage our feelings. We are now at the mercy or disfavor of a situation or person as we take away the power that belongs to us by nature. We are constantly dodging "bullets" and thus consuming huge amounts of energy to stay "on the surface". By reacting, we lose the power of choice and become like an animal in the heat of battle.


The answer is the opposite of the reaction and is a positive choice. The answer requires awareness and conscious control of one's thoughts and feelings. The answer is to take one hundred percent responsibility for everything that happens in your life, which means we take control of our lives. We have control over how we look at the situation or circumstances that have befallen us, and we consciously choose how we will react to them.

 

The pace of life has become faster and faster, and that healthy and serene way of life has long been a thing of the past. Our career, our family, our relationships, and other daily activities are also influenced by this accelerated pace of living which further burdens us to constantly make choices between responses or reactions.
